Can you control what skills children learn?
Just wondering, haven't been able to do much with biotech, but seeing as you can build a
"classroom" of sorts, can you control what they learn? Seems that it just selects random things.

You can control their passions and their traits, but not the small amounts of exp they get from classrooms. In my experience, they'll just randomly come out of childhood with a few skills at lv1 and lv2, and maybe a skill at lv3, nothing worth batting an eye at.

Ah.
So you can select the passions then brute force the skill levels from there?
so basically just having someone can be trained to be decent. Alright enough, Do you select the passions at adulthood? a prompt or something?

Just set their schedule to Recreation / Anything for whole day (I'm stick to Rec 24/7). Their learning will be maxed out, and they gain near max points at their growth stages, so you can choose their passions and traits.
My best (duno what's the max) is:
Choose 1 passion out of 2
And
Choose 1 trait out of 4

You get 3 prompts to make choices: Age 7, age 10, and age 13. They also gain access to more jobs at those ages, and finally becoming a fully capable colonist at age 13.

I've had a 6 shooting at 13, i don't like the age restrictions especially on the harder skills to learn. A 4 yr old can carry a rifle but can't learn medical? i could see a skill cap with age but not learning to clean wounds and stop bleeding? Children adapt better than any other age, they are a blank slate and choosing a classroom curriculum is basic stuff id like to control. I do like being able to choose passions and traits but they are random, you can reload a save and get different options at age up if your really into control. I did get mechanite doses of social but that exotic trader is pretty random and pricey early on. I bet someone will mod something for the kids :) Also kid armor plz?

Pulling a trigger is a tad easier than open brain surgery.
