making babies is too hard
my colony is in the 5th year (I play full time), and the only baby i've had was when one of the starting pawns was pregnant when I started the colony. Otherwise, there has been no romance of any kind. Romance was pretty rare even before the expansion but seems to be even harder to achieve now.

a. it should be easier to get pawns to fall in love, either by spontaneous/random process or with player intervention of some kind
b. there should be quests or events that result in couples joining the colony together.
c. there should be one night stands (if ideoligion permits) and unplanned pregnancies.

On the social tab of a Pawn, you can actually pick how hard they're trying to get a child.

im gonna take a wild guess and say that you have a mod issue or pawn age/sickness related issues. Because i actually needed a mod to reduce romancing. my female colonists were constantly pregnant and i couldn't keep up with the amount of babies coming in.

Age plays a factor in pregnancy, which is a nice touch.
You can always do it manually. Harvest an Ovum, have a colonist fertilise it and then implant the embryo into a colonist.

I don't see this, even when removing all mods, can you maybe post a screenshot? Does the pawn need to be in a relationship to show this option?

The colonists need to be in a relationship, yes. On a social page, beside their lover will be an icon, click it to choose whether they are trying for, not trying for, or avoiding pregnancy. Trying for pregnancy gives you a 400% chance to become pregnant.

There are also genes to increase pregnancy chance by a further 2x multiplier.

Then, as Arbee said, you can manually perform surgeries to generate a pregnancy. If you have the Growth Vat tech you can even put them fertilized ovum into the Growth Vat and grow the baby there.

Yes. They need to be in a romantic relationship for it to show up. And it shows up as a white icon next to the name of their lover/wife/husband in the list.

They already thought of this. Select a colonist, right click on another colonist, attempt romance. It's chance based, depends on opinion, attraction, age difference, and "other factors," but ya you can manually create romances now, shove them in a bed together and tell them to try for a baby. Functionally Sims.

If your colonists don't like each other, find a Highmate and extract their beautiful gene and start implanting it, or use Royalty to craft aesthetic shapers/noses.

in the social tab there should be button to force romance, this will not guarantee relationship, but at least you can force try.

Maybe its related to a mod but can't you just select a pawn and force them to romance someone else to start a relationship?

I have issue getting pawns romanced as well. It sucks this DLC didn't release with some changes to the social system.

So sick of pawns becoming social pariah's because of a shot out eye with all solutions being on extreme ends because eyepatches are hard, or have them scatter like rats when recreating or idle.

You could change their schedules to be a lot of recreational time, and then limit their zones to the most important ones so they've no choice but to socialize.

rimworld provides the solutions, or have them cut plants next to each other , or 2 cooking stations side by side, or make a double bed and force them to sahre the bed
