What determines which factions buy what?
I'm playing with the Rimcraft (WoW) mods and none of the new factions will buy my flake. I thought maybe it was done for immersion because fair enough, maybe the Draenei wouldn't be interested in cocaine, but the factions hardly buy anything except the super og base game things like meat, crops, vanilla clothes, etc. They wont buy alcohol from Vanilla Brewing Expanded either for example but the base game factions will, outlanders, tribes, etc.

I combed through the relevant defs and couldint find anything white listing or black listing things to buy. Am I just missing it or is it determined in the assemblies? Or is it like decided by tech level/tags?

It's defined by the TraderKind, there are ones for faction caravans, bases, and visitors. For example tribal bases use the TraderKinds_Base_Neolithic.xml file to determine what they buy and sell. If a modded faction has no defined TraderKinds it's possible there is some default list they use, but I think it's more likely they just aren't capable of trading, so there is probably some defined TraderKind in your mod which is what is restricting what they are capable of buying or selling.

Mods like VE will usually patch the vanilla TraderKinds to allow them to buy/sell special modded item categories. To make a trader from another mod buy those items would require a specific patch or edit to the files in said mod.

There is a mod, I think it is called Settlement Inventory that will show which towns will buy and sell which items.

Wow I just assumed that was exclusively trade caravans, this is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

Do you know of a mod or example that does this I could use as a cheat sheet by chance? The vanilla Base_Neolithic and Rimcraft factions both have StockGenerator_BuyExpensiveSimple and I cant seem to find where Vanilla Brewing Expanded or any of my other item adding mods patch in their stuff, at least not in Mod/1.3/Patches.
