Fermenting barrel
So..I am trying to make beer, and I made sure my room temp is abour 21 ~ 22 degrees. But whenever I click on the barrel it is always says it is ruined by temp. Even though suitable temp according to the info is 7 to 32 degrees. What is going on here?

Unsure, but maybe the batch inside the cask may have been ruined before you started temperature controlling it, or your heating/cooling system may not have been able to keep up quickly enough with rapid changes which could have resulted in the room temp straying outside the allowable limits.

In my personal opinion, it's simply more trouble than it's worth. Why not just buy it?

It says ruined by temperature to tell you that the last batch that was put in it was ruined. The wort you put in it is lost.
Put more in and keep the temperature inside the safe range.

So did you only see the words "ruined by temp" and not bother to read a single other word of his post?

How much did you look at the safe temperature range and what is in place to control the temperature? If heat wave/cold snap can do a lot to test the mettle of your temperature control or someone lighting a fire inside the room or someone bringing 50 pack animals in the room to fill up the caravan etc.

A screenshot of the situation might help, but as said the lines "ruined by temperature" means that the temperature was definitely off the comfort range for too long and the current batch is ruined and you have to start over again. If you don't have both enough cooler and heaters inside the room or are in an area where you basically just need one of them (hot regions work well for tribal temperature control too), then the spikes might have simply done it.

No. Maybe you should pay attention.
It is CURRENTLY within the safe range. That doesn't mean that it always was. If it got ruined in the past and there hasn't been a new load then it'll still say ruined.

He didn't say it was only CURRENTLY at that temp. Maybe instead of pulling assumptions out of your a**, you could do what Glass Zebra above you there did and ASK for additional information.

I've never had trouble making beer. Ever. In fact it's my go to cash crop in almost every playthrough.

Why? Is it easier than flake or clothing?

Also usable by your own colonist.

Yeah, I don't use it that often, but only after ambrosia and tea.

lol look at you harping on about assumptions when you assumed I didn't read the post. Also, assuming OP is a "he".

Tell me, what part of my original advice will NOT solve the problems OP is having? Because the only way that it could've gotten ruined by temperature is if they failed to keep the temperature in the safe range.

It being ruined by temperature hints that it was the temperature that ruined it, so the temperature control did not work. What's to find out now is "why?".
