Anima Tree's and Tribal Backstory Q
If I choose to start via drop pods, and not as Tribal, will I still be able to use an Anima Tree if one of my starting colonists have a Tribal backstory?
Only Tribal backstory can use them right? Does that mean the it have to use the Tribal start and not the drop pods start? Or is just selecting a starting pawn that's a Fire-Keeper or something be good enough?

The requirement for meditating at the anima tree is having natural focus enabled, and the only vanilla way to have it is by having a tribal background. There is no check how the pawn spawned in the world. So yes, a drop-pod tribal will be able to meditate at the anima tree.

If you own Ideology you can change the "culture" type to Tribal, that should allow you to play any start but with natural meditation unlocked for anyone who follows your ideo.

nope, you need to have a tribal backstory or any other modded backstory that allows you to. Or use the new vanilla psycasts expanded mod and spend a point to buy them that meditation type.

Your start doesn't influence this. It's a per person thing, only depending on their backstory. Pretty sure the starter pawn from the crash landed scenarios do not have tribal backstories without mods though.
