Curious about how to set seasonal clothing
I swear i saw sips do it when he played his 2019 series. Thought there was a way to set certain clothing articles to be worn during certain times of the year. But i cant seem to figure it out. or perhaps its a mod? but he said he was only using 2 mods which that wouldnt be under.

Maybe its not a thing in the vanilla game but that would be a great feature. not sure if there is a mod that exists for that. but if it is a thing you can do in the vanilla version id like to know how. seems like it should be a thing because it gets quite annoying when my pawns put on parkas during a heatwave in the middle of summer. And manually forcing pawns to wear certain things takes up to much unecessary time when you get a good amount of pawns. But the only thing i saw was you could set what kind of cloths pawns can and can not wear but not set what they can and can not wear during a specific season.

and while were on the topic is there a mod that exists that gives you more details on clothing items when youre hovering over cloths on the tailor work bench? I find it kind of annoying that to get any kind of decent info on a clothing item i want to make i have to make a bill for it first then cancel the bill and go do the same process for other items.

thanks for any answers in advance.

The 'Outfit Manager' in vanilla works great for me. It is under the 'Assign' tab at the top with the other useful managers. When cold weather hits I change the policy to disallow dusters and allow parkas. Vice versa when summer comes. They will then change their clothing automatically at a convenient time for them.

I create two outfits. 'Melee' with shield belt allowed and smokepop disallowed and 'Ranged' with shield belt disallowed and smokepop allowed.
Set both policies to 51-100% hit points and they auto-swap out tattered clothing, too.

This is a vanilla feature, and lets you control what everyone wears fairly easily.

Better Pawn Control will help as well. As TwoTonGamer says, it's a vanilla feature, but Better Pawn Control makes it easier to change outfits for everyone by allowing you to establish policies for such thing. Simply swap to a policy with a click of a button, and your pawns will go put on the clothes you've set for them under that policy.

Note that pawns will automatically put on or take off available clothing to account for the weather unless you have them force-wearing something. So if you're not picky about who wears which coat, you could just put all your clothing in an easily accessible place and let your colonists decide when it's appropriate to change. (I'm pretty sure this is vanilla behavior, but I could be wrong.)

As far as the hovering thing, unfortunately, there's not such a mod I'm aware of. You're right, that would be quite useful, so I'm surprised it doesn't exist. Maybe it does and I've missed it?

oh okay thanks. ill look for that mod. yea i was doing the thing twoton suggested in my game. but i just find it kind of unnecessary to have to pause the game and then re set what my colonists can and can not wear during a season every time a season changes. seems like i should be able to just have an option to set a policy for each individual season as to what kind of out fits are allowed. i mean, its kind of like the whole stockpile situation for me. its not that i hate the way it works, but even setting up specific stock piles can be very tidious and time consuming. and i feel the way it is with having to go in and manually change what my pawns wear every season is kind of a pain.

anyway. thanks for the info my friends. was helpful :D

Dubs Mint Menus is what you want for your clothing issue. Shows all the data for each item in an extra window alongside the standard one.
