Raiders invading via fridge

How do I stop raiders from walking all the way around the opposite side of my base just to break and invade through my coolers cooling my fridge? There are walls around it but I have to keep the door open so the warm air can escape it it doesn't cool my freezer.

I'm really hoping I don't have to layers of walls around a gap big enough to vent the warm air from the coolers

You can build sort of chimney inside your freezer, unroof one tile and have your coolers suround it.

That's good, once you deal with them just leave them there and let the pigs have access to that area.

Ah that's a good idea, the space is outdoors and I put some wooden walls around it, I just need to unroof it and lock the door. I forgot you can manually tell your people to unroof an area

That won't work cuz it sets the area as "outdoors" and any food or materials inside will deteriorate. Unless I'm remembering wrong but I swear that's the case.

Well if the cooler's back is facing the open air spot, then it should be fine shouldn't it? The cooler acts like a wall segment iirc, as if it didn't my current freezer setup wouldn't work

you just need to suround unroofed tile with walls and coolers, something like this:

I guess I'm a little touched I thought "cooler" was referring to the entire refridgerator but it was referring to the AC lol

My bad I forget what the actual device was called off the top of my head, and I always make it a freezer instead of a fridge since stuff lasts longer with no downsides I know of
