i keep getting stuck on a blank loading screen

every time i boot up the game it will load as normal until it reaches loading defs and then it will just go to the background of the loading screen with no text

also game is heavily modded

You have a mod breaking things. Delete

%localappdata%Low\Ludeon Studios\Rimworld by Ludeon Studios\Config\ModsConfig.xml

to clear your load order or get RimPy and mess around with your load order until it works.

Yes. I closed the node.
This isn't going to help you unless you downloaded a broken, unfinished mod :p

deleted 12 mods and it didn't do anything

RimPy is your friend. Use it to disable all your mods except Core and the DLCs. Save then load up and it should load fine. You can proceed to add mods one by one til you find the one that broke it. ( Or in, say, batches of 5 to narrow it down but likely speed up the process overall ). For *MOST* mods, make sure they load AFTER Core and the DLCs. Some will specifically say to load them before it, though those are rare.
