Dude. No retreat. You've just been straw manning me because you apparently hallucinated me saying something I didn't. Seriously, show me where I retreated because I'm seriously thinking you need some mental help for those delusions there, hun.
According to your lists, you're wrong.
I just clicked their links and looked myself. Overlord was only on one, and it was 15th place. Didn't even appear on the other lists
I've checked the first one, it says about unaired anime, where is this supposed criteria of actual viewers instead of a single site's opinion? If you want to see the public's opinion, check a site where the public can vote, share, review or monitor their viewing time.
The first link is irrelevant, and it doesn't stand before the MAL aggregate score and lists I've sent.
Second one is also based on nothing, it's a single person listing his favorite anime, nowhere near a measure of popularity.
Polygon is hot SJW garbage, so I won't give them a click, they are not worth it, so I'll risk not knowing some interplanetary evidence that could change the facts, unlike the other 2 links, but I highly doubt it won't have even lower quality "evidence" than what was presented thus far.
In other words: On one side the public itself, millions of viewers are telling you that the public likes X anime, and even if they don't, they surely know of it, and it has received awards as the most popular novel of 2015, and another in 2017, and ranking among the top in 2018, and on the other side some random journo says "I Liek dis".
It also raises some bright-red-flags when you see these lists giving a high "ranking" (based on one guy's opinion and no actual data) for animes nobody heard of like Healer Girl, Dance Dance Dansure, or even Ranking of Kings which got notoriety specifically for being good, even though it's heavily underrated (which means, not popular at all) due to it's aesthetics, as it clearly shows they are not what this guy claims they are, reliable, accurate, or even connected to the viewers in any way. Which is either a desperate attempt to fling anything hoping it sticks while ignoring actual data that contradicts his assertions, or a sign that he's in a bubble.
As if that wasn't enough, these supposed arbitrary lists not only don't agree with him, but they don't agree with each other either.
Very compelling. I rest my case.
PS: It's not like random journos have a history of being completely detached from the actual public scoring most things in 100% reverse of what the actual consummers like or anything, specially in the past few years, right?
PS²: And still, after a bunch of random links saying either nothing, or contradicting each other, he still avoided linking the things I've requested, which weren't off-topic like these.
I give up. You're straight up delusional. No matter how many times I point out that you're using DIFFERENT LISTS and even provide ones I've been using, you keep repeating this straight up lie. You're only embarrassing yourself with this. Stop.
Edit:
Gotcha, so the only reliable lists are the ones that agree with what you're saying. Cool cool cool. Nevermind that those contradict the statements from anime fans here that contradiction your claim of Overlord being TEH AWESOMEST, MOST POPULAR ANIME EVEH!
She, F you very much.
Where is the evidence against it? I've given you evidence for it, from my source, and yours.
Or you can just admit you were wrong and just wanted to annoy people for no real reason.
1: Just to be clear, you're really trying to push the idea that contradicting lists from the opinions of some random, single guy on the internet that doesn't agree with the other single guy you've linked, are a valid metric of aggregate viewer popularity, and that they are as valid as the actual aggregate opinion of millions of viewers in every single site that allows viewers to give their opinions on anime, and the most popular novel awards in several years, and the top ranking scores (or among the top) every season it has aired, is that it?
2: I can't see you so I just assumed you were male, not that I'd ever apologize for an honest mistake like this, so instead chill.
Edit: And just as a precaution, if you even try to use the appeal to authority card, I am fairly sure I am more qualified on this specific subject than every single journo in the world, I might have to bite my tongue on this one as it's possible to have someone who actually follows anime more than me in journalism (there certainly are regular fans who do, obviously, but not journos) as I'll put your random-guy-on-the-internet's list against my own, if that's somehow a measure of popularity for some unknown reason.

I highly doubt any of these people writing for these sites have "seen enough"
I'll reply when you post what I've asked for, if you retreat or dodge the question just presume I'm pasting the same thing under your post again, waiting for an actual asnwer.
I went to the one animoo ranking website for the public that I know of and checked the most watched animoo list for the summer of 2022 (as in people currently watching), and found Overlord season 4 at rank one.
https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/seasons/summer-2022?sort=status_2
It also ranks #2 for "want to watch", and #1 in "average rating".
On the top animoo of all time, though, it ranks #47.
https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/top-anime
This of course doesn't mean much as the fourth season is pretty new, so it has probably not settled into any semi-finalized rank.
But yeah, from my unbiased research it does seem to be one of the, if not the de facto, top rated animoo of the current animoo season. Whether seasons one through three were also the top of their respective animoo seasons, I cannot say.
Of course, I will have to say that just because something is the top of its season, it doesn't mean that everyone has watched it, or want to watch it, or even know of it. The top rated animoo of all time, according the the link I posted up above, is something called "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Entertainment District Arc", which I don't think I've ever heard of? Demon Slayer sounds vaguely familiar, but it's also generic enough to be literally anything I've ever heard of in my life. In fact, out of the top ten on that list, the ones I can say I know of for sure are "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" and "Attack on Titan 3rd Season: Part II" - the first one I watched, and the second I've seen two seasons of at some point. I'm not a hardcore animoo nerd, but I know my way around at least, and if I haven't heard of 80% of what's considered the top stuff by the public, I think it's fair to say there's probably a lot of people who don't know about the (currently) 47th best animoo.
As for me, I watched Overlord, and I liked it. It's nice to have an animoo about a semi-antagonist every once in a while. Didn't even know there was a new season being made, thought it was dropped entirely. And my honest opinion (read with big bold letters OPINION) is that while it's a really good animoo I can heartily recommend to most people, it's not one I would put in my own top ten.
