Trying to trade for silver but...
Any discussion I find regarding silver being optioned to trade for, all say to make sure its in the home zone, or in pawn's inventory. But no matter what I try, when trading, silver is always at the top and doesn't have the arrows to send any to my side. Just a zero between mine and theirs. Suggestions?

I'm not really understanding. I'm sorry. Are you at another faction's city, and they don't have any silver to give you for your goods? Is that what you're saying?

When you make a trade the amount of silver is either given or taken from you automatically. It is the difference between the trade values. It will not give you the silver if you "gift" the trade or the other partner doesn't have enough.

Let me clarify. When traders visit, the tradeable items that iI own are listed on the left side of trade screen. The items they're offering for trade are on the right. Anything they don't want is listed at the bottom. There are zeroes down the middle, with arrows on either side of tradeable items. But the silver is always at the top, with no option to ask for some in trade, even the trader's inventory shows they have some. There's just a grayed out zero in middle of each of our silver count, with no arrows on either side.

Are you using any mods that somehow makes silver a trade good, or introduces a separate silver item? In vanilla it is a currency so you would only get them when you have a trade value surplus; there's no option to request a specific quantity.

The only other thing I can think of is that you've encountered a bug or conflict somewhere. Or maybe it's something related to the console version (which I don't have, so I can't say for sure).

When you trade an item, any item, from your side to theirs or from their side to yours, that greyed out zero will adjust accordingly. You don't need to (and cannot) manually adjust the silver amount.

silver is money. You dont trade money. You exchange it for goods.
Adjusting the amount of silver they give you without giving them goods in return would simply mean you would have to pay for the silver with...silver. Not seeing the logic.

Pretty sure the expiration date was January 2009 when Bitcoin was launched.

Nah, by 2009 logic was already a distant memory.

I finally figured out how to obtain silver through the trading. It never occurred to me to just don't ask for any of the trader's supplies in return, and you will be paid in silver., if....they have it, and the values are equal.

Yeah, that's why I was confused. I'm glad you figured it out, though! Enjoy your game.

Second reply told you that.

I'm guessing SanFranman is a 4x Player. most of them games often have you haggle the price of things. You ask for horses then suggest playing them X in return. the AI says no and triples the suggestion and adds 2 of your sprices and you say ♥♥♥♥ you and close the trade, go to war and take the damn horses.

And then I come in and ask them why they care about the opinions of their food.
