Melee Killbox?
Im doing a medieval playthrough using melee only.
But how do you make a good melee killbox without useing the cheesy bug with the zig/zag walls and doors where you can hit through walls..

Any good idears and tips :)?

I would just have a 1 x 1 gap, so 3 guys can melee one pawn coming through the gap.

Then leave as little space as possible near the other side of the gap so no range pawn can shoot through it, or design in such a way that they can friendly fire their ally.

I would definitely suggest a maze like construction to give your men time to get into place because if they breach the gap before you get there the killbox is out of the window.

You also going to need some good armor, especially for larger raids, and might want to consider rotating characters out if at all possible.

Have a single wide corridor that leads into the killbox and does an L turn right before the entrance. Line your melee colonists right at the entrance, form a tight box if you have more than 3 at an entrance, or use multiple entrances each guarded by several colonists. Something like:

░░░OOO░░░░
████░██████
████░░░░░░░
███████████

Or:

░░░OOO░░░░
░░░O░O░░░░
████░██████
████░░░░░░░
███████████

The 'O's are colonists. The blind corner prevents most of them from ranged attacking your colonists and drives them forward right into your melee attacks. Occasionally you will get one or two stopped at the corner attacking and you might need to send one colonist in to attack them, or you can pull back to the sides out of LOS and force them to walk in before jumping on them with all your colonists again. It's not "hands free" but it works very well for most of the game.
