What do you need to tame carnivore?
trying to tame a wild lynx because my character has an inspiration that allows her to insta tame something. But when i set a tame order on the lynx, click my pawn and right click the lynx to set priority it says "cannot tame lynx: no usable food"

the thing is though, i have several snowhare corpses, 9 raw hare meat and a whole other lynx corpse in storage. so what do you need to tame carnivores? kibble?

Just to get this out of the way: hay does not work for taming herbivores either. Needs to be veggies or kibble. Hay is not tasty.

kibble might work or simply more meat.

Yes you need more actual meat or kibble. 9 isn't enough. You can't just rip off the leg of an animal corpse and say "here here kitty kitty lynx, nom noms" waving it about.
Also if you're short on a stockpile of meat in a freezer that you'd need to feed a carnivorous animal then how would you expect to keep that animal fed? Maybe you'd just let it wander and hunt on its own. You'll need to grow some hay to make kibble and that would be more efficient than just feeding it raw meat all the time. If it can't find meat or kibble it will likely eat your meals, even the vegetarian ones.

One of the better uses of lynxes is pretty much the "wander and hunt on its own" part. They eat LESS than house cats though, so they do not hunt often. You can not train lynxes for combat.

Yeah i just needed more raw meat. Once i got 20 it allowed me to tame it. funnily enough though, since she tamed it on her first attempt she only used 2/20 meat and had 18 left over. Eh not a big deal honestly just had to go kill a few more rabbits
