RimWorld
Love Rimworld. "Nebula" rip off of Rimworld.
I know this might start some drama but there is a game on kickstarter that has almost the same assets that Rimworld has. Any of the dev's want to look at that game and see. The game is called Nebula- Starship Colony Sim game.

And unfortunately, to get a solid Rimworld experience, you need a lot of mods.
*sad console noises in the distance*
The Steam Deck could be a good addition to your console lineup. And hey, I've always dreamed of Steam going on the XBox and Playstation. Kind of impossible though, isn't it? Since Steam's kind of a competitor, right?

Yeah, very much really impossible as you say why I guess. They'd have no reason to, plus the fact that you absolutely don't need Steam to get console games that are already on Console.
And most Pc games are not console ones, so no really advantage at all.

Steam's been pushing for Linux as a way to resist the Microsoft monopoly, which is nice.

Yeah the steam monopoly is waaaay better :P
Yeah, it is. Microsoft could basically shut down Steam whenever it wanted, or try forcing them to pay a cut to install anything on a Windows machine, which is absolutely the direction that malware disguised as an OS is going.

I've always took linux as an operating system for specialists, or people who want to do very specific things no other major operating system would allow. Can someone like me get into Linux comfortably?

if you play a lot of multiplayergames the answer is no :S
The style is undeniably the same, but the assets themselves are definitely not Rimworld's so I wouldn't all it a "rip off". Definitely in the same niche, though, which has me curious about it.

Huh, weird. Is it because of crossplay? I don't play multiplayer too much, but I enjoy playing with friends from time to time.

There are tons of Linux "distribution" (a variant of Linux if you want) and some are really simple, with interfaces not more complicated than Windows or Mac.

Idk much about you to answer that, but I got my largely tech-illiterate brother mostly over to Linux several months ago (he still has his Windows install for a couple things) and he hasn't had any technical problems I need to fix.

And you can install different desktop environments without needing to change the whole OS.

A new game in a niche genre, nice. Iv really wanted a star ship focused rimworld, and the SoS just doesnt jive with me very well. Cant wait to see where this game goes.

Dont know if someone allready say it but take a look at this new game.

Pretty damn well made but at this time no real andgame and very random generated.

Assets can be used by multiple companies by the way. AND legaly if.. The assets came from a 3rd party "unity store for example" that owns rights to resell. Or if they bought them from Rimworld.

On that note look at this..

I see lot of similarity in all of them ,They all different games at the core. But i admit i do like them looking kinda similar. Makes easier to find assets while playing i need. Though a different looking world be nice.

And game you mention is on steam "well will be lol"
