Yep, it'll be a bit for HcSK for 1.0. They will likely be waiting until Combat Extended is ready for 1.0 which itself was slightly delayed due to the mod author having to take a tiny bit of time off.
Another total conversion to watch for is MarsX by Dubwise. (same author as that of the water/hygiene mods) Think it was last released for A16 or A17, then Dub started fleshing out all of the subsystems into their own mods which are pretty much all updated. Now I believe the plan is to get back to working on the MarsX project itself. If you haven't played that on the older versions it is worth a look.

When I last played a standalone Rimworld game (i.e. before I switched to the Steam version), several versions ago, I had one nice military mod ... gave you weapons with a lot more range, the requirement to use ammunition, but also bunkers.
Dunno which mod that was, however ... and IIRC it had its problems after the mods original creator quit and there were problems to find a successor who would have enough time to actually maintain the mod.
The mod you were referring to was Combat Realism.
Thanks ... yep, you are right, that was the name of the mod
Yep, and the original mod author of Combat Realism is the current mod author of Combat Extended. When NoImageAvailable returned, instead of going back to Combat Realism, which by then had new contributors, they just started the new mod.
