Question about Beauty
So I thought marble walls were the best in terms of beauty, but I’ve been told jade is better and so is smoothed walls. Ideally if you’re trying to get beauty up, what’s the best to use? Obviously gold is good but what’s after that and what order?

Each stat has a very steep downward curve in terms of effectiveness, so the first 50 points of beauty are pretty important, but the second 50 much less so, and if you are at like 500 beauty than another 50 adds almost nothing to the room, not the 10% you'd expect but more like 1% or less. Which is why something that adds both beauty and wealth is important to consider compared to something that adds only beauty.

Floors and walls in general have never meant much beyond the early game though because of said diminishing returns. If you want to get the room buffs high you need some ridiculously high beauty and wealth numbers, and you will only get that from sculptures and some furniture. Not even gold walls and floors will really do much.

No stone block walls give beauty. Neither do steel, wood and uranium.
Gold gives the most, over 20 per wall. Silver gives 13 iirc.
Smoothed cave walls give 1.
I don't know about jade or plasteel.

Though the best way to get beauty up is with carpets (+2 beauty) and art pieces. A large wood, steel or block art can easily give 200 or 300 beauty. Marble even more. Far more cost efficient and effective than expensive walls.
I was thinking smooth stone walls + some jade walls and marble floors for beauty. Not sure if its worth it in the long run. Most of the time I leave the planet but I was thinking of staying this time and making a colony that can last forever through anything.

Doesn't really matter, you are talking about a difference of like 100 points depending on size of the room, which is less than a single decent small sculpture, and dwarfed by higher quality larger sculptures which can be in the thousands of beauty. Marble is a realistic option though, jade is not, you are better off using the jade you get for sculptures, and smoothed walls are situational (and have no value, which is an equally important stat for a room). Silver is better than marble for beauty and wealth, and is also something you could reasonably use, but it's flammable.

I have never built a wall considering it's beauty in all of my time played, I had to actually double check to see if they even counted toward the room stats.
So in other words, marble is better because it’s more valuable even if it’s not more beautiful. I figured beauty was an important part in getting rooms really high up on the wealth, and impressiveness stats.
