RimWorld

RimWorld

Saved game location
Where are stored saved games exactly? A search on 'rimworld' on the users folders did not return anything.

Go into your game, and go to options. There should be a button that says something along the lines of "open save data folder." Click it.

Otherwise, if you're on Windows, it's at "C:\Users\[user]\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Saves"

Idk about any other OS.

Thanks. Weird, I made a search on RimWorld on my C: drive; Oh well... Thanks again!

That is typically a hidden system folder area. So unless you have those types set to show, they probably will not show up in a standard search in file explorer.

Ah this must be that. New PC with Windows 10, I guess I did not configure it completely then.

Are the saves zipped or something, can they be edited with np++?

Yes, they can be edited.

It seems np++ can't cope with my saved game. I don't understand why, that's just a modest 170 MB file, for a game on a 400x400 map with 700 roaming zombies. Also, the world is generated 100% and there are double the usual number of factions.

Anyone knows of some tough xml reader?

Maybe Sublime?

Jumping on this, but can the save folder location be changed at all? Seeing some older posts from 2018 on this, but not sure if this can be done with the newest updates.

Yes. In the future, make your own thread, instead of necroing a two year old one

Indeed, I was still registered to it and I had to come back from the grave. :-)
