If you don't want to reroll endlessly or use a mod, you can just pick the cannibalism ideology meme or set cannibalism to acceptable or preferred or whatever. Then all your starting pawns and all those you successfully convert will be A-okay with eating people.
Also, yes, you can raid for captives to eat, just down them, then you'll have the option to take them with you when you reform your caravan when leaving the map. You don't actually need to do this though, enemy raiders and visitors will provide you with more meat than you know what to do with.
