Tutorial - allow starting items ?
Hello all,

the Tutorial tasked me with 'allowing starting items'. What does that mean and how can I do this ?

Sincerely.

pretty sure the keybind is the F key. you probably need to click on the resources that crashed with you like steel and so on and allow it. they should be scattered around and have a (red?) X on them. click the resource then hit the F key or there should be a button on the screen that shows up when you click the resource, thats likely the allow button you are looking for.

I presume the starting items are found under character 'gear' but this tab is currently locked.

Checked the keyboard options and found no 'ALLOW toggle' button.

Honestly, you probably won't benefit too much from the tutorial. It's a bit buggy. Maybe leave the help text on and just start a regular game, pause a lot to figure out where all the buttons are and what they do, and learn as you go. I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know this is what most folks do when they get stuck on the tutorial.

Oh... look under your architect menu in the orders tab

...don't forget to right click stuff in addition to left clicking too, as a general rule

Im maybe a minute into the Tutorial and would like to know what I can do in this game and what not. No sense in trying to figure it out myself and learn it falsely.

Im looking for the ALLOW toggle button. Its the very first task. Dont tell me this game is bugged as severly as it looks to me already.

Its locked. All tabs are currently locked and clicking on them states I should allow starting items. I dont know what that means. Likely the items my 3 characters started with. I cannot check them since the gear tab of the characters are locked as well.

I started playing before the tutorial was introduced. All I know is that for some new players it seems to have some bugs, and usually, since there's not much to be learned there, its just best to skip it. It just gives a new player basic tasks to perform without telling them how, and it seems some of the information displayed can be confusing.

The game isn't buggy. The tutorial, which was put in as an afterthought, seems to be for some players.

Id like to play the tutorial regardless since Im not one of the brightest. Still looking for the ALLOW toggle button. All tabs are locked. Cant imagine noone knows where to find that button.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

That did the trick. My screen was zoomed out from the previous step that told me to zoom. The 'starting items' are some resources on the ground and I did not see them while zoomed out. I thought the characters had these on them but their gear tab was locked.

Id would have been nice if the Tutorial told me what it meant with starting items and where I find them.

Its all a bit odd. Next to the resource which I understand are laying around, there are pants and weapons laying around while the characters have nothing on them.

perhaps they are free spirits, and wont conform to societal norms, like clothes:steamhappy:

click a pawn, then right click on something and you should be able to select force wear or something alone those lines. same for any weapons.
