Do Floors Insulate?
I am currently doing a subzero play through of Rimworld and am having trouble keeping my temperatures stable. Does floor matter when it comes to insulation? Because it seems as if the floors that have dirt in them (I'm under a mountain so I'm mostly smoothing floors and sometimes there is dirt/icefloors) are hardest to maintain.

Nope, far as I know floors aren't included in the maths.

However, if you use wood flooring, that CAN help keep the place warm....... /wink

Check for missing roof, wall or door tiles. The temperature controll for a base with overhead mountain roof should be way easier, since this roof type puts an extra layer of insulation on the whole thing. Floor type does not matter.

Neither floor nor wall materials have any effect on insulation, all that is needed is the complete enclosure of your room/building.
Roofs also matter not, except that natural overhead stone roof is more insulating than the usual tin-sheet improvised roofing.

Double walls help. Triple or more is no better than double.

As M.K. said, double walls are going to be your best friends for insulation. That and an airlock.
