Suggestion: Advanced Brain Transplant (Pawn switch)
Medical Skill: 15+? (Really high, could even be set to 20 to be an end-game operation)

When you transplant someone's brain into another body, all traits/skills will be switched to that body, more or less copy paste the current colonist to that person, name and everything.
Damage on the new body will persist, but if you switch a female to male body for example then the "Gay" trait is added or if the trait already existed it should be removed.

Should be a negative mood for every colonist during social interaction until they've "accepted" that change.

Would be fun, then you can switch appearance and also instead of switching all body parts if said colonist is almost destroyed, you can switch the brain with a high risk of failure.

Personally, I think this would be dope.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking!
However, it might be too OP if both survives.
It should function as a heart transplant, one of the subjects dies.

Rather when you take out the raiders brain and put in your colonist's, then the raider brain should be thrown in the garbage. XD

I dunno, if the Dev decides to go with it, I'm sure it will be working well.

The brain shouldn't disappear, it should just be unusable medically but be available for a new brain in a jar/long tube piece of furniture that gives mood buffs to psychopaths and bloodlust pawns and debuffs to all others.

Sure, I see no reason not to keep it.
"Thrown in the garbage" was more of a way of saying that you can't save both.

Philosophical question...
Is it a Brain Transplant, or a Body Transplant?

Soul Transplant.

I believe that everything we are, resides within our brain. Our soul if you will.
If we put our brain in another body, from our perspective it will feel like we just switched bodies, everything would be the same other than the confusion we'd get when looking into the mirror.

Could come with crippling mental breaks like it would in real life if it were possible.

Last article I remember reading about possible RL brain/head transplants and the resulting outcome had a nice line in it that went something like "A fate worse than death".

Keep in mind its not like you'd be a quadrapalegic - other than optics and audio, I *think* facial motor motion is controlled lower in the spine (at cervical level) and none of that stuff would really be included in a "head" transplant. So you'd be stuck staring at closed eyelids and hearing maybe, kinda a la Metallica's One without the baseline. Sooo my A&P is rusty.. but holy hell this is an abomination that should likely exist in Rimworld somewhere because Rimworld, obviously.

Haha yeah, but hopefully if it were to be implemented, they wont go full RL. Rather a mix inbetween to make a fun feature.

But keep in mind that the "fate worse than death" bit assumes that there's no way to reconnect the motor or sensory nerves. With glitterworld tech, presumably that problem has been cracked, and the operation really would be a working full-body transplant.

Still jarring and possibly traumatic, depending on how strongly the patient identifies with their original body, but no longer a hellish fate.

Given that they can QUITE EASILY connect bionic & archotech eyes to a pawn, and have better-than-perfect used of eyesight, it is a given that they have solved the problems of transplant connections and interfacing.

This feature would be awesome, I really hope they see this and take it to the table for discussion.
