Will there ever be multi-core usage for Rimworld?
As above...Rimworld gets so slow during midgame.
High-end rig here but the game runs like crap with 500 mods from midgame onwards.

There has been for a long time. Core speed is still the most important thing and not the amount of cores as usual.

RimWorld already uses multiple cores to some extent and that has been expanded on with updates over the years. It's probably never going to fully 100% multi-core, but that also wouldn't make sense to do, likely the devs will continue to gradually optimize and thread content as they update in the future.

You're brave using 500 mods for alot of reasons. Some would even call you crazy :steammocking: I decided some time ago that 300 was my limit. Currently I'm running 329. #RimWorldRebel.

You could always run a program like Ryzen Master (for AMD cpus, don't know what the Intel equivalent is). Find out what your strongest cores are. Then jump into Task Manager & enable only the strongest cores (affinity setting) for Rimworld. Just google task manager affinity. See if it makes a difference

It's also worth noting that the type of mod used is more important than the number of them. For instance, five mods on the scale of Combat Extended will likely cause much more of a performance hit than a hundred mods removing the mood effect from eating without a table.
