How do I make wild plants grow in constant -23C degrees?
Is there a mod which allows me to chance the minimum growth temperature of certain plants? Playing in a modded biome called "Winter Taiga" and might've done a mistake of turning the overall temperature of the world a bit too low. Now there's about 2 berry bushes, no grass and only trees on the map and if I don't get another colonist who is somewhat competent in plants skill then my wooly cow will starve.

It's a fun and challenging biome. Either gotta last until 'summer' or get a greenhouse going

I like the expanded roofing mod, I can make a greenhouse without using those high cost lamps, and makes sense too since I can heat the room and can have glass
The roofing costs only a bit of steel and you need to heat the room, maybe use a geyser or campfires

If you only want a little bit of wild plants growing you could build rooms that are minimum 80% roofed and heat them. Under the remaining 20% unroofed tiles plants can grow and if you dont use that area for growing zones wild plants can grow there. Obviously thats not gonna be a ton of plants but it might be enough for a few farm animals or a little bit of wood.

If you want wood in an extreme biome, you can just use fibercorn. It only has a 30% light requirement, so a regular lamp, torch, or campfire will suffice.

yep don't grow them in -27 C, grow them in a warm room, ie, greenhouse.

For that, you'll need a source of heat, light, and a patch of soil or hydroponics.

IMO, your modded biome strategy might be similar to the typical ice sheet strategy, as far as how to keep yourself warm and fed. Watch a few play throughs of people going on an ice sheet and you can get some ideas for what you need to do on your biome.

But if you have trees, then a campfire for the heat can help out. Build your main room on some patch of soil or even near a geyser, and the heat from the geyser/campfire should melt the snow and make the dirt accessible. Then plant some stuff to keep you and your pet alive.

This part is different from a ice sheet map since on that one, there is no soil or geyser, and you would grow in hydroponics. But on your modded map, it looks like there would be soil, so you just need to make that soil to be accessible for planting.

to keep the cows alive the pawns plantskill wont matter much tbh. for planting seeds the skill will only affect the speed therefore if you go for feeding the cows live plants anyone could do it.

for what to plant i would probably go for flowers because they can grow at below 51% light meaning you wont need a sunlamp for this.

Or help keep population levels down through.... um... shall we say 'culling' and not wasting the food supplies it gives you.
