Colony characters won't cook food?
It appears that my people keep eating raw meat....
I have fires going. I even have a powered up Cooking grill station. They don't use them. They just take the raw meant, after bringing it to the table.

How can I make my people cook their meat, before eating it?

You likely need to create a bill at either of those stations to begin cooking meals.

Thank you. I will look into that.

My advise would be to play the tutorial, which includes this.

Sadly, it does not.
My son and I went through the very short tutorial. And, there is a small note about cooking; but it does not actually have the player 'cook' a meal. For practice or training. Nor, the procedure in how it is actually done.

It does include exactly this. It tells you to build a stove, it tells you how to add bills and the tutorial will not advance until you've added 10 meal bills.

Remember, you are not playing as your colonists. You are an omnipotent monster looking down on them. They need a direction of what to do, aka bills and building, but once u place those down they handle it

Weird. maybe somehow, my son and I skipped parts of the tutorial by accident. Didn't think we did. But... hmmm.

And a very important thing:
Learn to use the work tab, set to manual priorities. Top left corner of the work tab, there you check it to manual. 1 is important prior, 4 is last.
The game goes from left to right, from top to last prio.
So if your work tab is like:
A-b-c-d-e-f-g
3-1-1-2-4-2-1

Their work schedule will be:
B-c-g-d-f-a-e

At auto prio (not numbers only checked / empty squares) all the prior is 3, so they go from left side to right.

Learning and using well manual priorities makes your life way more easier.

defo have a look thru the tips that the game slams up in the top right corner of the game, lots of useful things there.

could also have a peep at a playthru on youtube like Pete Complete's 3 runs of vanilla and the dlcs

All of us had to learn the ropes. This forum was pretty much help for me when I'm started, now I'm just giving away what I'm got. 😁
