Gold tile doesn't count as fine floor????
Recently got a colonist to the rank of baroness and the quest tells me the throne room requirements include all fine floors. Doable enough, and for some extra effect I threw in some gold tiles which is apparently not allowed.

"The accept this quest, you need a throneroom that satisfies the requirements of Maverick's baroness title:

- All fine floored"

Looking around online and it seems like this might a glitch or, at the very least an oversight. Anyone know a way to fix this? Maybe a mod that changes it? I'd rather not have to tear up all that gold floor and have it be for nothing.

I feel you see it being completle ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but hey, rather not start questioning programming choices /overlooks in this game or we sit here tommorow.
If you find no mod, make a backup of your core and change it yourself.
In core files, find the "GoldFlooring" and as with every floor its gonne have a option of being a "fine floor" = no />". Change that to yes. You probaly going to find it under the royality folder.
If you did everything right but boni doesnt apply, turn on dev mod, build silver flooring over it, and then build gold flooring over it again using Godmode.
Then trash the quest "royal ascent" and reorder it via Devmode. It will fix it if all done right.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/294100/discussions/0/3199243212164534069/?ctp=2 seems to have a problem with fine floors too. I don't know if they ever solved this issue.

Gold floor does absolutely count as fine floor. I just checked that in game.

That is not quite how that works. In the Terrain_Floors.xml there is a tag list which includes <li>FineFloor</li> for the fine floor types. Gold and silver are the only vanilla tiles that got that by default. Ideology and Royalty add their own floor types which can have this element. If you are not using any mods to change floors, this should not be affected, but OP said nothing about mods.

That does seem really weird. I can't imagine a finer floor than just walking on literal gold. Odd to still have an oversight like that given how long royalties been out but I suppose probably not many people use gold for floors.

This is not an oversight since gold and silver floor do count as fine floors in the base game. The game still has Royalty only bugs for a long time though, like all the stuff that comes with recruiting the first wimpy royal from the introduction quest.

Ah, yeah I have been playing with a lot of mods. Guess I can't be surprised that's what did it lol

Thanks all for the replies, but I guess I'm just gonna bite the bullet and put down some marble tiles

If you have the same issue like the other thread I linked it might unfortunately not get fixed with marble only. You can use dev mode to try that out though ofc. If it still does not work you can either look at the mods you are using or just do : https://steamcommunity.com/app/294100/discussions/0/3199243212164534069/#c3199243212164651306 to set the royal title. They will be unhappy after that for not having a dignified throne room though.
