Big tribal raids
I keep having raids for like 20 tribals when I only have 6 colonists. I have them equiped with heavy SMGs (4) and knives (2) but I can't find the way to survive this kind of raids. They are too many tribals despite of my colonists having better weapons than them. What could I do to defeat these tribals?

Traps, set up kill boxes using walls and the like, line the insides with traps.

Basically you want to keep the paths to your colony and colonists as few as possible so the AI will take the path of least resistance. If a tribal group didn't bring sappers, they're not likely to dig through rock or blow up a wall to progress.

In later stages I build a wall around the entire map and leave a 1 square opening that leads to traps and turrets. (There are doors in the wall for hunting and repairs)

If you have any boomalopes try taming them then sending them into the enemy, or just use animals in general. You get food and less wounds to the colonists that way!

Have a city wall and face them on your own terms. SMGs are super close combat weapons, so don't fight them in the open. The knifes can bind their ranged people so your SMG people can shred them.

I'll try those! Thank you so much, I thought about the killbox and so, but never have read or thought about the boomalopes thing :slscream:

The encounter doesn't have to end in one big fight. Do some damage and take cover in your base, letting them bleed out/get weaker. Since you are in a number disadvantage you need to play more safe.

Also wealth management.

I've read a bit about wealth and how it affects raids, but I'm not sure about how to manage it as you say. My colony is right now 100k total wealth but it doesn't seem that I've a lot of things at all. I also try to gift some resources to close factions so I can ally with them. Is there anything else I should do to get the wealth down?

Wealth management should mostly be about not hoarding stuff you are not using. You do not need 12k gold in your storage or 30 rocket launchers. If you have just the stuff you need and are going to use up in ~1 year or so you don't need to take care of anything if you are not playing at 500% difficulty.

If you have a somewhat big amount of something in your storage you could ask yourself "do I need this much?", but for the most part you do not need to worry if you are not a person prone to grabbing and keeping every bit they see. Some things can be a bit tricky since the stack up a lot. Having "only" 2 stacks of wake-up (or most drugs really) is a ton of wealth already.

Items that are buildable like stone blocks can be used to decrease wealth since buildings cost less wealth than items.

I still have not succeeded at making a good kill box style death trap, but I handle large groups with lots of spike traps. At the least, it works out well for the game for a few years before I stabilize and maybe lose interest in that colony or lose interest in playing for a bit, then return to it again at some future time, at which time there are probably more changes and mods so I start up a new colony and use a lot of spike traps again. I'm one of those players that like the beginning of a new colony a lot...as it gets easier to do things in the colony, whether by having more colonists or higher skills, I tend to lose interest.

Also, you can try to keep your colony wealth down when your group isn't that strong yet. Many people don't play with groups of 10 or 20 or 50 colonists, so there are definitely ways to survive with 6 colonists.

Build a trap room over a steam geyser with 3 doors. 1 near your base and 2 near the entrance. Build a table and chair inside. Lure the enemy in. Sit and eat a meal while you wait. Close the door behind them. Then set the chair and table on fire. Exit through the door behind you.
In a steam geyser room the temp will already be 40c to 50c in that room to start. It should heat up to about 200c+ and cause anyone inside to quickly get heatstroke and pass out.
