Choose exact transport pod drop location

Is there a mod available that lets me choose exactly where my transport pods drop? I'm using SRTS, and when I fly to far-away ore deposits my shuttles usually destroy a good chunk of them when they load in.

You can normally choose the exact location to land, if the map is loaded. The issue being the map isn't loaded until your colonists get there, so for a mod to do what you request it would have to completely change how map loading works. I haven't seen any such mod and I don't think it's very likely it will happen. What I do is use 2 ships, a usually smaller ship lands on the edge of the map to load it and get a couple colonists mining, then I send a larger ship to land where I want it to in a position to load all the ore without destroying anything. You could also send a runner to caravan on foot to the site and then send your ship in after they get there to land right near the ore.

I've never done a deposit run, so I'm curious to know if you commonly have deposits spawn in particular locations for this to be an issue. If the ores are always at the center then arriving at the map edges and deploying from there would be a solution, and vice versa.

Most of my experience thus far is using the SRTS Helicopter version and deploying to random raid sites; in these I usually go for the edges unless I don't care much about collateral damage/danger and choose to land right on top of the site, though quite frequently I'd find my people deployed on the edges anyway.

The ores are always right in the center, and if you pick center landing with one of the big ships it often deletes most of the deposit.
