RimWorld

No idea how to make sense of error logs
Hey guys, I was trying to download some more content mods for Rimworld and now the error log opens every time I launch the game? I could still make a game and play it just fine, but I don't want some game breaking error to happen when I'm 300 hours in. I tried to upload what I think would be useful, including the "share logs" feature.

Share logs button output: https://gist.github.com/ad72ac23b32a8b3cc839010e4ce7301a
Copy error log pastebin: https://pastebin.com/dPXXt52b
Copy red line of doom pastebin (this is my best guess at what's causing the error cuz it's in red:UltimateSheep:): https://pastebin.com/GGgQc8uk

Uhh... You have Achtung above Core?
I just let auto sort do it's thing

Are you using RimPy? Or Mod Manager? Cos the built in sorting isnt really reliable afaik.
downloading mod manager and watching a guide now, honestly had no idea I had to sort mods lol. Hopefully sorting it will fix the error log thing

I highly recommend RimPy as your Mod Manager. and https://rwom.fandom.com/wiki/Mod_Order_Guide this guide on order of mods.

Proper mod order saves you a lot of pain in the ***, and removes most errors. I'm running like 400 mods, and I have almost no issues.

Rimpy will show you what dependencies are missing, and what order is recommended for specific mods. And it's quite intuitive. Just from your logs, I can see you are missing JecsTools.

Sure, I'll check out rimpy instead. And I will definitely be following that guide lol. Appreciate the help!

Some common sense helps a lot too... Core and DLC's need to be loaded first... then libraries (because they directly modify core files), then Main mod-cores followed by mod-expansions to those mods (think Vanilla expanded core first followed by stuff like Vanilla Expanded: savanna animals) and finally mods that just add content...

In general; the more impactfull you think the mod is to the core of the game; the further up (or near the Core+DLC packages) the mod needs to be.

Just follow the guide imo. First goes Harmony. Then Core + DLC. Then HugsLib and Jecs Tool. Then all the CORE and Frameworks. Then map generations. Then Medical. Then all Gameplay Altering mods. After that Buildings. Then Items. Then Factions/Races. Then Animals. Then various Patches. Then Textures. And at the end most optimization mods. Like Rocketman. Performance Optimizer or RuntimeGC.

There are some exceptions to the rules ofc.
Better Loading goes above Core.
SF Grim Reality goes after Royalty but before Ideology.
SRTS Expoanded goes right after DLCS.
SoS2 goes right after JecsTools.
What the Hack goes immediatelly after Libraries.
