You will get everything but the empire faction spawning. If you wanna spawn them in, you can use stuff like

You don't really have to face any of the Royalty content except the mech clusters if you don't want to handle the royal stuff. It is an entirely optional power boost. If you just take in the first royal and kill the chasing animal, you could just go to the quest menu and disable honour gain from quests. Then it's just optional bionics/weapons/quests which you can all ignore.
If Royalty overwhelmed you a bit, you should be advised to take it slow with Ideology. It adds far more complex stuff and can do that in the first few days of the colony. Maybe try something super low in impact and convert all people to your ideology before recruiting them.

I guess it depends somewhat on the type of chosen Ideology too. Psycasting can complement the Archo-nexus ideology quite well.
