Where is "Randomize" button for characters in the in-game tutorial?
Ok, so I just bought the game and am doing the in-game tutorial. It won't let me continue until I "randomize" a character and it's telling me to hit the "random" button, which does not seem to exist in the tutorial. Am I going blind or crazy or something? Where the heck is the button?

Same. It is in the top right corner, but the large orange text box is covering the "randomize" button so I cannot continue.

Is there a way to get rid of the orange text box to access the button? I've tried clicking around one the text box, but that doesn't seem to work.

Is there a hotkey or something that triggers the 'randomize' button?

you can try to change the size of the game

To solve this, go back to the first screen. Click in Options and change the resolution to the right one (the one you are currently in). The game won't do it for you. After that, everything seems to fit in place.

Perhaps go into the prefs.xml file that you can find in the config folder in the data area (stock steam location is: C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config

In that file try changing 1 in the line:

<uiScale>1</uiScale>

to something lower like .5 or .75

That may shrink up the user interface enough to get you through that portion of the tutorial.

Thank you, it was simpler than that, but I would be very happy to try your way otherwise. I got pretty frustrated after a dozen resolution changes, specially because I'm running it in a notebook connected to a tv-screen, which just makes the problem even more confusing. I've just updated my comment above.

Oh, that's great! Right resolution certainly helps :)

My way would most likely make it way too small once you are running the proper resolution.
