I don't play vanilla, so I can't say for sure from personal experience. I can say, with both DLC's, I have a tame one right now.
Congrats, give Fluffy a pat on the thorax for me.
I think this is not true. I made a whole playthrough with the tactic of downing them with heat and then taming them to sell/use. The thing is that they lose their hostile status once downed. That can be anything from bloodloss to heatstroke.
Interesting. I've had downed bugs get up and try to kill me again multiple times, both from blood loss and heatstroke. I don't have any insect mods so I don't know why our experiences are different.
I dont know. I usually do use insect mods but i believe it to be a vanilla thing. The only bugs that remain hostile are those that spawn in raids and maybe wild insect hives as well. For infestations I'm pretty sure that they become docile. I remember that well because in one playthrough I coincidently managed to find the sweet spot for the amount of wooden floors necessary to knock them out slowly by fire without getting superheated air to early. Then one time a hive spawned insects which then dug out and released the hot air. They all recovered and I had like 50 docile incectoids on the map.
Ahh, that makes sense. I never destroy the hives until all the bugs are dead.
