I prefer an open "urban jungle" or city and play hide-and-seek, peek-a-boo, and ring-around-the-rosey for the most part.

... An early version of Blackjack City... but for a postapoc-medieval mod.
a large main building that has 1-2 opening into a courtyard and all doors into the building are only accsesable from the courtyard.
crops are mainly grown outside unless its a toxic cloud where i just roof up the courtyard and turn it into a indoor greenhouse.
Just a warning though, the guide's over a year old and was originally for A17, so you might have to hunt for compatible mods to replace the ones that are used. Luckily most of those do have replacements. After 1.0 releases and the appropriate mods are updated, or suitable replacements are found, I'll be finally updating the guide. ;D
As an example, wind generators are now 2x7 rather than 2x5, so the construction of the power farm is different now. :D
