Can you cheese the AI storyteller by removing stockpile zones?
Hi!

As I understand it, the diffuculty of events are relative to how well your colony is doing (number of members, wealth, happiness).

If you were to just remove a bunch of your stockpile zones that were full (ie, the stuff is still there in your base just not marked as being in a zone), will the wealth of your colony lower leading to easier attacks and events?

Or has he thought about that?

Doubt it. I've sold unstockpiled stuff to traders, so it likely all the items still count.

Colony wealth also contributes only a chunk of your "power". Most of it comes from item wealth, room wealth (can't hide that ;)) and population size, with turrets playing a role in attracting sappers but not much else.

Some excellent, in-depth info about raid sizes can be read here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/529ocf/posting_these_is_all_that_keeps_me_going_anymore/d7lijnk/?context=3

What's the difference between colony wealth and item wealth?

Of the top of my head, colony wealth is item wealth + building wealth. All the installed furniture/statues, floors, turrets, etc. Items are just items lying around, though gold is obviously a very valuable item to have lying around ;)
