Sometimes mods like "Haul to Stack" or others that mess with the reservation system can cause a bench or item stack to get stuck in a ghost reserved state and nobody can use it until you reload. It looks like you have some errors related to that in your log, but I can't tell on what objects.
You also had a RimAtomics error that was suppressed so may have been ongoing for a while, was looking for a console of some sort. There may have been another job under the research job type that colonists were trying to do and erroring on causing them to fallback to idle. I know RimAtomics adds some jobs to "research" but I haven't played with it enough to know which ones specifically or what their priority is compared to working at a normal research bench.
Suddenly researchers started to work. But i think there was a problem in research tree. All my queued researchers was gone and I had to make the list again. After finishing the reassembling of the queue they started working. Probably the queue bugged or something. I'm still not hundred percent sure
Oooooh hang on I think I know what's happening... I started researching a technology that requires the hi tech research bench. As in, ONLY the hi tech research bench can be used for it. A little vague but logical, the wording made it seems as if once the hi tech bench was built you could use the simple in addition when actually it's exclusive. Today I learned a thing, heh.
