Add chairs of some kind.
There are a couple of ways to solve that. You can make them have shorter workhours so that they have free time every 4h or so. So the chance is higher that they are around when hungry. Not very efficient if its just about the table thing. Otherwise good for rec.
You could have them not run around the whole map. If you want for example mine something far away just have your miner access the area where the mining should take place. When he's finished let everybody haul all the iron and be done with it. That way your pawns will not run all over the map for 1 stack of iron. All that running makes hungry.
You could also place tables and stools around those spots where your pawns work for a longer time, like a mine (I just stay with that example, ok?). They wont get a buff for a nice room ofc but also no debuff for eating without a table.
Lastly, I would not recommend putting tables into pawns rooms. While it seems a logical thing to do what actually happens is that random people come into the pawns room to have a meal. That spreads dirt and wakes up sleeping people. You dont want a caravan for example to rush your rooms for a meal with 3 muffalos in tow.
Give it some time - It could just be that the last time they ate a meal the table wasn't there.
Also - You have chairs, yes? They need those to it in while eating at the table.
^-- This.
Though, making sure the table is unflagged as a Meeting Spot will help with certain things. Even so, it's pretty darn annoying for Vistors/Caravaners to rush to the nearest bedrooms to eat... Kind of amusing, though. :)
Imaging waking up and having 3 muffalos in your bedroom and some grinning trader munching on a hand full of pemmican "Did we wake you, mate?". LoL
yeah the tables have chairs
Add the "No Carried Food" mod to your game. That way, when they get hungry, pawns won't have a meal on them, so they'll have to go back to base to get one. Then just make sure there's a dining table close to the kitchen (or wherever you stash finished meals).
Rummaging around in your cabinets...
"You're outta scotch, mate. And, pick up some "Cheese Wiz," too."
