Possible to edit a colonist out of a save file? (sort of fixed)
So I have an issue. Had a game crash (probably because of a mod) and when I loaded the autosave; one of the colonists was just gone (no big loss). However their bed was still there and still assigned to them. This bed has become an indestructible object that cannot be reassigned, moved or destroyed (not even in god mode).

Sadly this also affects all my autosaves and going back to my latest manual save would set me back several hours. So I'm looking either for a solution or maybe a way to edit out all references to this colonist from the save file in order to stop this

Have you used dev mode tool "T: Destroy" on the bed?

Furthest I've ever gone was editing a pawn in the save file, I'm not sure what the effects of removing the entire pawn would be nor am I entirely sure what all would need removal as the same pawn is referenced multiple times in a save. What you can safely do is use the save file to find what happened to the missing pawn as it should display everything about him.

Ok, so I have been able to figure out what was stopping me from removing the bed (it was a mod meant to keep pawns' beds even while they are off in a caravan). I disabeled the mod and was able to delete the bed using dev tools.
Howerver what happened to the pawn is still a mystery (I had only had them for a few days so it wasn't a big loss)

I had a disappearing pawn problem a while back. After investigation I found the precipitating incident was a massive infestation + 14 trooper quest which ended up with dead bugs and dropped gear teleported all over the place and me making a pawn haul one of those bugs urgently (using the mod). In retrospect I’d had an issue during the fight where an empty tile wasn’t accessible (couldn’t move into it) and a dropped psm wasn’t accessible (couldn’t pick it up). In the end the solution was going back to the point where I used haul urgently and not do it, but I suspect the problem wasn’t initiated by haul urgently but by whatever was happening with that tile.

In my case the crash happened because of undead pawns (Rimworld of magic mod) making the caravan system freak out because it couldn't calculate the food requirements for them.
The pawn that dissipated however was from Call of Cthulhu (I had just started a cult and he joined because of that)
