You think so? It's already been seven years SINCE this came out.
No it hasn't. It's been a bit over 2 years since this came out, which was after over 5 years of early access and development. RimWorld is still being developed though, with another major update and DLC around the corner. RimWorld 2 almost certainly isn't being worked on, if that project starts it would probably be many years away, but I don't see Ludeon as the kind of studio to release a sequel. RimWorld will probably be updated and refined and optimized for years to come, if they do release another colony sim game in the future it will likely be it's own unique thing.
ffs not again ......
Zero on a "Rimworld 2" this century. And, by the time a Rimworld 2 could be a possibility we'll have Smell-O-Vision and not ancient ol' "3d."
There are approximately fifty-eleven "colony-survival-builder-management" games out there right now. It would be just plain dumb for Ludeon to decide to waste effort making a "Rimworld 2" even if their IP is one of the most recognizable in its genre.
If you're looking for a "3D" Colony Survival Builder Management game, there's plenty of choices swamping EA and in already released title lists. Before Rimworld and Banished were released? Not so much... :) (DF, but that's pretty eclectic fare.)
It released in 2013.

Definition of came out:
Came: Past tense of come.
Come: arrive at a specified place.
Out: so as to be revealed or known.
Any other sophisticated English needing translations and defining please let me know.
As you can see they start blogging about game content in 2013. It did indeed come out in 2013 and it was being sold before it arrived on Steam.
Also it's kinda illogical to base any of this on it's current progress nor their abilities since they now have the following: increased staff, increased funds, and functional studio. Something they didn't have before. So your comment is utterly illogical and doesn't really make too much sense in the long run.

If you are confused about the concept of early access or alpha testing feel free to ask.
Even if correct your 2 years off. So you still can't count buddy. Never mind how moronic it would be to conclude that Steam is the only avenue of selling games.
It also moronically ignores the fact that Steam switch to early access type games in 2018...wow when did this game come out? Switching from Greenlight to Early Access instead allowing ALL games of any type to get on the store.
Hurr durrr....
I'm literally a research scientist...for medical advancements and not software though.
