Game won't start anymore ?
I haven't seen any topics about this yet unfortunately, was hoping to find some infos there but I guess I'll just have to start one then.
So ever since the latest update came out a few hours ago my Rimworld won't launch anymore and it also crash the steam client. It seems like some people are still able to play just fine and some others can't, no clues why.

I'm not an expert with this but I've tried a few things like restarting the pc, checking game files integrity, deleting my mods to see if they could be the issue and deleting the config files as mentionned in the Readme inside the Rimworld folder, I also tried stuff from a pinned discussion about reverting to an older version but nothing worked.
Not knowing what to do after this I tried uninstalling but then I got an error message while tring to re-install the game, so I tried clearing the download cache and repairing the library folder, finally I was able to solve this by deleting a duplicated .acf file in the steamApps folder but so far now I've got the game re-installed but it still won't launch and crashes steam.

Does anyone have some ideas of what I could try to get it to work again ? I was really enjoying the colony I was working on lately and it would be quite sad to leave it as is.
Thanks in advance.

Top left of the steam client, click on steam -> settings -> account -> Beta participation: Change... -> opt into the steam beta update.

I suspect your steam client became slightly corrupt, it happens occasionally for some people after a game update, forcing a beta update refreshes your steam files and seems to fix the issue usually, you can opt out of the beta after.

If that doesn't work I dunno, I don't want to recommend reinstalling steam entirely as that can be a huge headache, but if you find no other possible solutions it might be worth trying as a last resort. There are probably other steam files you could delete individually and get repaired, like those acf files, or workshop related files, it might be one of them, but I don't know which files to suggest offhand.

It worked :D
By default it was already set on participating to beta update so instead I switch it to opt out of all beta, it then reloaded steam and now it's all good again, thank you so much <3
