Made Rice but it doesn't store it.
Why not?
If I look at all the options under a storage I can;t see any rice or any of the other plants like cotton.
Do they need to be processed first?

I'm assuming you're trying to get haulers to take rice to a stockpile and that you're running a vanilla game - Are you looking under Foods>Raw food>Vegetarian? Because there is a "Plant material" category, but that only covers hops, psychoid leaves, and smokeleaf leaves. You're not going to find options for rice or cotton there (I'm presuming you're talking about cloth. Cotton plants, when harvested, yield straight cloth. No processing needed). Incidentally, cloth is found under Manufactured>Textiles.

Well yeah it says that the items will decay faster because they are ouside and not roofed.

That's fine, I'm just trying to figure out where the potential issue is. Having stockpiles that cannot be configured to accept rice is a very peculiar problem to have in a stock Rimworld game. Are you using any storage mods? Some modded containers simply won't let you store specific items in them.

Nah not using mods.
Even build a new area next to the fields that accepts everything and they still wont put it there.

And you're saying the issue is that you don't see the option to store rice in the stockpile zone you've made?

Can you share a screenshot?

Mind doing a test? Somewhere nearby, create a stockpile.

Set the Priority to Low.
Allow all.
Deselect Chunks.
Deselect Raw Resources.
Deselect Corpses.

Then select a pawn who is capable of Hauling (which should be most of them), and right-click on a piece of harvested rice that's in the field.
Does this give an option which will allow your pawn to move the rice to a new location? If so, do they take it to the stockpile we just created, or somewhere else?

My guess is that you have a stockpile set up, but nobody's presently Hauling the materials because they have other job priorities.
If you have a tamed animal, like a dog / horse / megasloth, see if it can be trained to Haul stuff within your base. :-)
