Curing torso scars?
My colonist has a nasty scar causing him serious pain. Usually I'd amputate the part and replace it with a bionic one, but since it's on the torso, that's not an option. Any advice?

There's luciferium, if you're willing to dive into that insanity. It cures scars over time, including the torso ones. I'd only recommend this if the guy is a solid manual worker (having enhanced sight, manipulation, e.t.c. is extremely useful for soldiers, crafters and builders but not amazing for more mundane stuff like researching and janitorial stuff). There are other drugs as well like smokeleaf, though those are temporary solutions to a more permanent problem.

Healer mech serum is another option. No side effects as far as I can remember, although I'm not sure if you can choose which injury heals since I've never used it before. I'd recommend doing some homework on that one.

One more thing is the painstopper implant. It makes your pawn impervious to pain, and will negate the effects of the torso scar. The problem is, in battle your pawn won't go down until their dying breath. Keep an eye on them in those situations and be ready to pull them out of combat if they've taken enough of a hit.

There are probably other options that I'm forgetting, but it's a situation of picking your poison.

Researchers benefit from increased manipulation and sight.

They'll go down non-fatally if their movement goes below 15% due to leg/pelvis/spine damage and/or reduction in consciousness, blood pumping, or breathing.

The only remaining non-mod option is for the pawn to die and then get resurrected by Resurrector Mech Serum.

Buy a painstopper implant, or dope them on drugs all the time, or send them out into the wilds

Healer Mech Serum will as well, it's just nearly last on the priority list of things it will cure.

Healer Mech Serum was already mentioned.

Seconding this, you have to make sure your pawn has no other health ailments other than the scar because Healer Mech Serums choose to cure the more serious ailments before they chose to heal scars.
Luciferium combined with crypto-sleep is probably one of your better options for colonists with serious scarring. Luciferium dependence is fairly cheap and manageable in a vanilla-rough-cassandra-ThreeColonist game, and crypto-sleeping colonists don't require drugs or food.

Yes, you need Luciferium every 6 days about, which equates to 10 doses a year at something like 60 silver each I guess? Luciferium is far more common than healer mech serum and your colonist will see a range of health benefits on top of the scar healing. Over the lifetime of the pawn you might end up spending more silver on luciferium than you would have on healer mech serum though, so, there is that to consider, if silver is especially difficult to come by for you.

Edit: Oh yea, or you could just Crypto-sleep your colonist until you have the means to heal the scar via healer mech serum. That way you don't get them hooked on anything and they aren't at risk of tantruming due to low mood.
