How to get the bestower back up?
Hey,

I just got again a bestower out of the shuttle for my rank that immidantly fall over and went uncouncious. This time its not as always a heart attack, this time the problem is, he has a disease that induces 20% Pain, and he is a whimp.
Result: Forever uncouncious. He can not give my pawn a title and now I have alot of guards running around in my house, eating my food without permission, taking my drugs without permissing, punching my people (without my permission) because they go mad, going on drug and food binches without my permission and I cant just throw the guy out and let him starve because any damage done to him will immidantly turn me hostile to the empire, also truning the high armed guards inside my house hostile. So I cant let him starve.

I know I can isntall a pain stopper, but I am not interested in feeding 10 guards and him forever and them continue to eat and abuse my drugs till I have enough research for it, and a hospital for them to not ♥♥♥♥ up as they always do even with level 20 medicine and a inspiration.

Thanks tynan you really thought and balanced that update trough did you :D?
Not to mention 120 Raider loosing against a single lanzer as they all stand in front of a mech ground shield shooting restlessly on it instead of moving 5 tiles forward into it.
That was fun to watch :D

PS: I forgot, as a whimp they are not fully unconcious, they just cant move, so no forced operation, not even pain stopper or healing the disease.

do you have a painblock psypower? otherwise give drugs that reduce pain.

You can let them starve to death, and you will not get a rep penalty from it. You could also freeze them to death, or kill them with heatstroke, just don't set them on fire or let animals kill them.

yeah drugs maiby but trying to give him smokelleave joint is seen as a criminal offense against the empire as he is not a drug addict. Psypower I wish, he could give me that power :D.

Sadly the whole whimp thing is, he is not really unconcious, the just cant move. So I cant do any operation.

Can you? I remember not, maiby he died from something else. It will fail the quest I guess? And then I get a new one. I just hope it doesnt bug the quest out.

Now that you mention it, I could try to almost starve him to death, that will render him unconcious, and will make it possible for me to operate on him. Thanks, I will consider that.

There we go, you can still learn stuff after 3500 Hours ingame.

I'm about 90% sure the quest will simply fail and you will get a new one in like 1-4 weeks or so. I'm 100% certain any other visitor to you map will not incur a rep penalty for starving to death, or most other forms of death, generally just animals and fire as I mentioned will give you a small rep penalty, or of course attacking them with your colonists/defenses can make them hostile. I have not specifically tried it with the bestower as nothing like you describe has ever happened to me.

I tested it that starving to death turns them hostile just happen and I had to restart. Thats the case due to him dropping the neurolinks. So even I hate doing is, I have to use debug mode in this case and remove the sickness, since ir would cost me 10 glitteroworld to cure him, which is just not worth it. I get the feeling they not even playtested it to much looking at behaviour of enemies and mech clusters, but thats a personal perspective. I will just let this "cheating" slip under table. It never happen.
Actually, personally I am kind of sad being forced to this due to vanilla. It isnt even a mod error, not in this case.

I just checked the files, it does seem like the bestower has a special flag that causes the faction to become hostile on death. However it also has a flag that prevents any pain causing conditions to spawn on them. What was the disease your bestower had? If it was added by a mod it's likely the mod author did not appropriately flag their stuff.

Thats interesting. He had a heart attack and since then his heart is damaged and that induces pain. Could be a bug. Or a mod.
Thanks for looking into the code then it has to be a mod conflict of some sort or a bug since I can remeber heart attack damaging the heart to scars.
Yet him dying makes them hostile, even if he starves. I guess thats just because of him dropping the neurolinks.
Interestingly enough he can have heart attacks and die of them, turning them hostile.

In my opinion, since heart attacks are vanilla and in youtube already seeing multiple cases of him having one in unmodded colonies, that is a big flaw in the game. You cant make him be a turn hostile guy (probaly due to the neurolinks he drops) but then have him have a chance to get a heart attack.
Whatever causes it, I have to remove the heart attack /the following causes with debug.

My guess would be "More/Better diseases mod".
