Whats the deal with carrying capacity?
By default colonist can haul 75. If there are some negative health conditions, in colonist info window it shows reduced carrying capacity, lets say for example 60. So, in info window it says 60 and in reality colonist actually hauls 60 - everything corresponds properly. But when carrying capacity gets increased in info window to 105 for example, actual hauling capacity doesnt increase. It works to the negative side, but not positive. This was bothering me for a long time. Is it intended? is there a fix?

Why, when carrying capacity in info window drops, actual hauling capacity drops to the same number, but when it gets increased, hauling capacity doesnt change? In other words, why it works to the negative side, but not positive? In the carrying capacity description it says, that it is not about cross-world traveling capacity, in other worlds it has nothing to do with caravans.

It is confusing, why it is this way. Is it a game flaw/bug, that hasnt been addressed? This doesnt seem right. Having better hauling capacity is quite beneficial - less running around.

It’s to do with the game’s stack system: pawns will happily carry up to 500 silver, but only 25 medicine. One sword or gun at a time, and only one corpse.

So the maximum stack size is the limiting factor.

I see, makes sense. Well, hope someday this limiting factor gets changed, so that stronger/better colonists could carry more.

Unmodded the only things extra carrying capacity helps with are hay and drugs which are normal sized items with higher than 75 stack sizes. I don't think it's likely to ever change, the game is balanced and designed around the current system and has been for many years.

With stack size mods you can accomplish more or less what it sounds like you are looking for, and it's one of the main reasons I always play with stack size mods.

CE also has its own solution.

I think pick up and haul uses pawn carrying capacity without modifying the stack sizes.
