RimWorld
Steam Deck Rimworld or nah?
Feels like I'd want my KB+M. I wasn't a fan of the Steam Controller trackpad.

could probably be made to work with the touchscreen for a slightly better option.
First thing I thought about the Steam Deck was how easy it would be to play this game and other RTS games. I bet dragging and selecting a bunch of trees to cut or something like that is going to be super annoying. Also say goodbye to hotkeys. Rimworld make you have to select a bottom menu before using a hotkey which has always annoyed me, but I bet the few that are in the game will even work on this hardware. Also what about zooming in and out of the map? Is that going to be a touch and pinch? Too many what-ifs to make me want to reserve one.

you could try using steamlink first to get an idea if you have a tablet. given that rimworld is mostly controlled via mouse you should be able to play just fine via touch = direct cursor
sounds awful
I don't think it would work at all without added support by Ludeon (or a mod). Some actions are hotkey only, some require holding right click and selecting from a list, or middle click, some things like the schedule and priority tabs seem impossible to manage on such a small screen. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody came out with a Steam Deck mod for the game, if that's possible, but can you actually play a modded version on Steam Deck? I haven't looked into it.

I've played it once with the steam controller and it had some quick action menu on a button that was pretty useful. It looked "playable" but not fun. Then again, I had about 0 experience with using controllers like mouses and zero reason to not go back to my mouse after a few minutes. I remember the first time seeing command & conquer on a console with similar issues, but apparently it's a thing.
