Is there a way to get around having multiple spouses when sleeping?
So I tried the new DLC and I got an ideology where the people could have multiple spouses. Starting with my three survivors, I instantly notice an issue where you can only craft a double bed, meaning someone in this relationship is "sleeping alone" even if I put another bed right next to the first one.

I know there's probably a mod or something that can help with this, but besides that is there a way to address this? Seems like an oversight to add poly-relationships but not add beds to accommodate those relationships.

Unless that was the point. "Your faction allows poly ships so you now also have to deal with people being jealous of who got to sleep with who last night." Which I guess I'd understand if it was intentional. Just feels more like they forgot to add in more beds or something rather than having this be an intentional debuff.

If you have Pawn A in love with Pawn B and Pawn C, and you place a double bed in a room with Pawn A and Pawn B in it, then another single bed in the room with Pawn C in it, everyone is happy, nobody has "sleeping alone" and the room is a bedroom, but Pawn C doesn't get any lovin. If you are seeing something other than that, your game is either bugged or you have a mod breaking things.

Yeah, I went with a traditional relationship structure for my colony too after I realized beds didn't allow for an automatic rotation of spouses or where the colonists are assigned to bedrooms rather than specific beds. It's just a hassle as it's now.

I assume this means if a man has several spouses, all we have to do to avoid any negative moodlets is just make their bedrooms all the same room?

I had a double and a single bed. One person slept in the double bed, one person slept in the single bed, and one person just slept outside for some reason.

Maybe it's not an issue with the game. My colonists might just be morons.

If the one sleeping in the single bed is the one who married to the other two, then the game probably won't assign his/her spouses to share the double-bed, as they aren't in the relationship for one another, but for the other pawn, if that makes sense.

Correct.

Some ideologies prevent colonists from sleeping in the same bed if they aren't married. It's possible one of those pawns was in such an ideology. I wouldn't rely on bed auto assignment, that has always been pretty bad even before multiple spouses.

This is exactly why I won't do multiple spouses in the game. Until there's functionality that's added to the base game (meaning: not requiring a mod) that deals with this automatically, allowing the Lovin' event to happen with the multiple spouses (either by rotation or group fun), I won't bother with this. At the very least there should be a larger bed that accommodates more than two people.

In a sense that's the downside of the precept, but it's also not, usually. If you had the same 3 colonists and single spouse only, one of them would be left out, would be missing the mood bonus from having a partner, would be constantly getting rebuffed, and would be taking up another entire bedroom. Multiple spouses lets you solve that problem, the odd pawn out, at the cost of lovin sometimes. What ends up happening is you get a tangled web of partners and most of them end up with somebody they can share a bed with and get some lovin anyway. So it ends up as purely beneficial, faster relationships, higher moods early on, fewer bedrooms needed.

so still no solution for multiple spouses?

The solution is in the first reply in this thread. The multiple spouse precept is already OP and doesn't need anything extra.

No no they want one guy fathering babies with multiple wives. You don't get it thee is a legit issue if the beds are assigned, you have to manual swap them out every time one wife gets preggers and I think they want some kind of system for them to mass produce like mormons of old wiht out micro managing...

With kids coming in dlc this is real issue how to get one husband with more then wife to knock up all of them wiht out micro managin bed assignments. So solution here doesn't work once the mod is installed sigh.

There is a mod called "One bed to sleep with all" that I saw that lets you assign someone with a double bed as a 'master' in a polyrelationship that was capable of auto-swapping out the spouses for the lovin buff without much micromanaging pain.
Unfortunately, I don't think its been updated for 1.4 yet

I stumbled into that issue just now. Is there a newer or a better fix for this at the moment as the last reply is more than a year old? Somehow the neanderthal of my colony gets all the wives and I want it for him to be possible to make new babies without manually assigning double beds.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2008138191 existed before this thread was created. Does it (or another polyamory beds mod) solve the issue in your game?

This one works too if you don't want comically oversized beds.
