how to enable permanent weather effects?
suppose you want to make a weather effect permanent on a map, like fog or a sandstorm, is that possible? i tried looking at "Create Scenario" but they don't exist as incidents or permanent game conditions. i want to create a desert map with a permanent sandstorm.

Did a quick look at the mods on the workshop, not sure if anything there is quite what you want though you can take a closer look. One way you could force the weather to be something non-stop is to use dev mode to spawn a weather controller then cycle through which condition it will force. I guess just try to place the controller somewhere out of the way unless you want that to canonically be like part of your colony.

Well, placing the weather controller is just a means to an end, right? The goal is having a certain weather all the time? So this is one way to get there. And you could just sort of tuck it away in some corner of the map and just ignore it for the most part.

On the other hand, if you want it to be a thing, like your colonists came here because of this machine, maybe incorporated it into their colony or whatever, you could put it somewhere that they'd build around it. Maybe they could worship it or something, idk.

You can edit your scenario and include permanent world conditions. You can do this easily if you start a new colony but it's harder mid-game since you'd have to edit the save game file. I think you edit world conditions through dev mode, too, but I've never tried, so I'm not sure.

unfortunately you can't add normal weather conditons using the scenario method. :(

this did the trick! i spawned a weather controller and encased it in rock so hopefully no-one wrecks it. :D
