healing destroyed spine?
Ah i can't even... the level of stupidity that just...
Now i just bought ideology and solved the quest where you have to hack the drone. Then it selfdestructed and in that very moment it blew up, a pawn came by to haul a stupid simple meal that was somehow next to it... i was playing at maximum speed and before i could react.... haaa-*kaboom*-aaalt...

Now the pawn has a destroyed spine and is completely unable to stand up. Is there any way i can save her or do i have to care for her forever? I've heard there is something like a dragonball style healing tank that came with ideology?

Bionic Spine

You can create bionic spines, or use the rare, healing naninite syringe.

i don't think that one will heal his spine, it only heals scars....what you need is a healer mech serum..... i think the bionic spine i have is a modded item, and i don't believe you are currently looking into adding mods to your game

edit: or not, maybe the spine is vanilla, so nevermind that xD

and these are solutions that have existed for awhile too.

Think there are two vanilla methods: the drug luciferium (gives permanent addiction else death without it)

or the healer mech serum. Though I think there was some weird thing where it may not heal what you want it to heal. Or something like that, no positive as I've never used one.

Bionic spine is vanilla, but your modded one gives bonuses probably, this one just has 100% efficiency. They're expensive though and hard to get(research +a couple advanced components)

Oh, didn't realize that was now in vanilla!

haha dragon ball reference. Well there is a cryptosleep casket you an get later on in the tech tree, but its about the same time you can get yourself a bionic spine to replace theirs with. If you have a good medic a surgery like this would work.

As far as Ideology I'm not sure they added something that you can use. If they die you can always freeze the body in a fridge until you get a resurrect mech serum.

Wow that was quick. Thanks for all the answers! I currently don't have any mods that add any items or anything. Just some qol stuff like colored mood bars and minimap. I am currently very early in the game but i will have a look out for these items and try to care for her until then.

so luciferium doesnt heal it just jacks up all your stats on your pawn so they do everything better. at the cost of withdrawl being lethal.

healer mech serum heals at random, any scar, missing, or broken body part, anything from a scratch on your nose to a limb you wish you had back. so if spine is the only thing wrong, it'll heal it 100%. if there is any other health condition on them, it might heal that instead.

and bionic and aerotech body parts exist in the base game and are the preferrable solution as they typically function better than the normal human parts. only downside is if your colonist is a body purist, they will start to hate existance.

Healer serum actually has a very strict priority system for what it targets:

1) Missing limbs (legs, then shoulders/arms)
2) Toxic buildup
3) Diseases, in order of severity
4) Frail
5) Alzheimer's
6) Dementia
7) Scars on the brain
8) Missing organs (lungs, then kidneys)
9) Drug addiction
10) Scars on other parts (based on severity)
11) Trauma Savant

But yes, installing a bionic spine is better, since it also ensures that pawn will never get a Bad Back due to ageing.

Luciferium also heals minor permanent injuries (like scars) and conditions like cataracts, dementia, asthma, carcinomas etc at the rate of 1 every 15-30 days (15 min, 30 max).

Yup, Bionic spine is in game, but not cheap.

oh so it DOES have an order. guess i never noticed. i was trying to heal a limb and it healed a scar.

only thing i've ever used Luci for is my super soldier program. all arotech and otherwise bionic combat enhancement implants, lots of heavy duty armor, on a pawn with jogger, Brawler, Nimble or some combination of the three (sometimes tough in there as well) and then give them Luci and go juice. when situation is normal, he sits in a crytosleep casket.

it was a bit of lucky rolls, but i had him solo a thrumbo once. was amusing.

I thought cryo soldiers once, but figured cryo sickness would be too much a hinder.

Note that because of this strict priority, a healer mech serum will still cure a disease that has an acquired immunity over a missing lung. It is VERY important to consider this priority, now that you now about it, if a colonist has multiple things wrong with them. Anything that you can fix WITHOUT the serum should be done BEFORE applying the serum - and waiting until any infection or acquired immunity disease expires.
