Help with Nudity!
Just wondering if anyone can recommend some mods or even just helpful hints to help with nudity in Rimworld.

I have 8 colonists that want to be nude due to their ideology, which is great except how can I better protect them in battle and from the cold?

All about zoning for me.

I have a zone covering all indoors. In high winter I limit nudes to stay indoors. They get a bit of a mood debuff after a while but it's nothing I can't deal with.

Same with raids really.
I also have various raid zones depending on where / how serious raids get.
As soon as a raid starts I "Schedule" everyone into the raid zone (behind the big guns basically).

You just gotta offset the mood debuffs. Things like art and tables everywhere help.

Yup. Mostly about just ensuring a colony keeps warm on the inside, minimize outside travelling.

Couple tips for extreme cold. First is the less power needed, the more secure the supply is.

Most basic technique is making use of geothermal. A vent is heat that will never shut off. You can also put some holes in the roof in order to grow things in vent room without getting too cold if need be.

Second is insulation. Heat is lost through roof and walls. My strategy is to build a core of rooms, single walled into an outer isolation wall. Double thick with airlock entries. This concentrates your core heat with minimal loss, the halls acting kinda like a dewar wall buffer, keeping decent due to xfer from the ajoining room.

Above was done with testing in past to be quite efficient.

Mountains also are more thermally neutral. Even less loss plus naturally favours towards a comfortable temperature. Though now more risk of infestation, so plan accordingly.

Lastly... how to power.... Solar and wind do have risks in raids, etc. However, you can indoor tree farm. I have done in past where small plots of trees in rooms poking through roof holes. The holes bleed temp. I convert said wood to chemfuel and generators to both power and heat, with enough power and wood surplus to power base, letting be have solid wood, and even cocoa supplies in the dead of winter.

Temp: nudists don't care about hats so tuque for cold, and cowboy hat for heat.
Combat: I've neved dealt with a full colony of nudists, but one or 2 I keep them nude and when raids happen I make them equip thrumbofur/hyperweave tribalwear, it's less invasive to nudists because it's less one less cloth piece than shirt+pants (if I don't care about the nudist mood buff I just make it a permanent clothing set for the nudist pawn). It won't protect all limbs but it's respectable chest defense for a pawn that won't be frontlining anything (unless I'm feeling daring enough to give him a shield belt, an uranium mace and keep him around behind enemy lines to bash some pikemen mechs as cleanup).

You could just equip them with ranged weapons and use one to just run around with their naughty bits flapping about leading the enemy in circles while the rest of the nudes shoot at em.

I recommend "armor racks" mod. Lets you keep you fighting gear on racks, ready to be equiped all at once.

I make different outfits under the assignment tab. Once they go into battle I just switch their outfits and they have to deal with the mood modifier for a bit. Once the combat is over, I switch back. For caravans I let them go fully clothed.

The solution is to not care about their need to be naked and offset it with beauty objects and other modifiers, joywires and lots of drugs being most effective.

there is a attribute you can check for clothing by viewing the info page on it, and it tells you if a nudist would consider this a covering clothing or not. if they don't they can wear it without feeling covered, like toques or hats. modded hats seem to forget this option tho, so nudists wont be happy with those.

I don't think tribalwear counts as clothing for nudists, so they can wear it without a debuff. Just make sure when you make it, make it something strong like devilstrand or hyperweave. Also they'll wear tuques without a debuff too, so make them a strong, warm material too.

Realistically? Treat it like real life. Nudists aren't naked all the time - although there certainly is a mood debuff when they aren't. Sometimes you have to keep warm. Sometimes a hat or a shawl helps when the sun is too strong. And sometimes you have to put on armor and fight those jerk marauders.

Just make sure they can relax naked when they don't have to actively wear clothes and call it a day. Brew some beer. Have a good rec room. Meditation spots. Smokeleaf. Etc. They'll be fine.

Also... living in permanent summer is wonderful.
