free love?

Does free love essentially make everyone swingers or is it basically just that people can couple up with whoever. I'd like to avoid my colonists tearing themselves apart if I can.

they will couple up with whatever, but... i think marriage couples still get angry if there lover dates another

From my few hours with 1.3, it seemed to me that colonists could romance anyone. Then they could sleep with any of their romantic partners. You could even assign people to the same bed who *weren't* romantically involved, but I think that actually gave people a debuff if they didn't do some Lovin'.

what I have seen by playing is that its not much different.
Basically instead of its saying 'wants to sleep with...' it just says 'wants to sleep with someone...' (or something like that) then you can look at their social and see who it is they have the hots for.
I guess there might be a case though where one has the hots and the other does not, but that was in standard play too I think

All it means is that you won't get mood debuffs if your spouse goes hooking up with someone else.

It's actually annoying because my Royalty dude kept leaving his royal bedroom assignment and saying rooms weren't good enough.

I never play long enough to have the bandwidth to even think about it.

so free love allows lovin outside of wedlock, polygamy allows for multiple lovers without penalty. so if your set to something other than free love and set to 1 partner, no love makin unless the couple is wed or there will be penalties.

heh imagine, major break incidents with a rule setup like that... sex crazed!
