Epic Quest line not carrying Research over to new map?
Hey guys,

I got the Quest where I got to certain wealth then I could sell my whole colony to other faction and start over with 5 colonists + 5 animal. I did but everything went to **** after that.

Is there an option/mod that could help with carrying the research I have and some of the resources + items in my old colony the new one?

Or Could I suggest an idea: when you sell your colonist to other faction, you could make a caravan with limit people + animals + item then move to the worldmap and then sell the old colony. I think it is more immersive than vanilla.

*More about what went to ****: Expectations sky high, not enough food, bed, Ideology needs + some unlucky events with Mr Randy :(.

Thanks for reading.

If all you can take with you are a few colonists, I'd suggest looking into the Vanilla Enhanced: Accessories mod. That adds backpacks that increase your carry weight. That, combined with the RPG-style inventory should let you load up your pawns with a bunch of extra stuff to take with you.

That might help a little bit?

Yes Thanks, I did reload my save and did that. Packback + Exoskeleton to increase carry weight to load lots of stuff. But this is just stuffs not Research though.
It is kinda workaround but I think this Quest should be more immersive.

Haven't been playing the archonexus ending(thats the one that gives the questline if I remember from the store page), but I think the goal is to focus on your colonists skills and animal connection rather than collecting various rare items. While it may hurt to lose your cataphract armor research, thats probably part of the challenge and you are likely supposed to focus on getting colonists with ridiculously high research speeds, so that you get back faster. Just my two cents based on the game page.

Yeah, I have no idea why research doesn't get carried over. That's probably a bug that Tynan and co. are addressing.

Huh, do you actually lose your research? That's interesting. Wouldn't have thought that would happen.

Out of interest, what if you set your max colonies to 2+ on game generation? If you have a second colony established when the first one is sold off, can you avoid losing a bunch of stuff that way?

If you slap down multiple research tables and train all 5 pawns in research you can get your stuff back quicker. But yeah it basically resets you to the scenario start on each successive colony. You have to restart like 3 times to get the location of the spoiler.

I have no idea that there are many possible endings, and yes, I'm on the archonexus ending.

I already have 1 max research colonist but I dont think this is the case. I think the dev want to tell a great story, not to have us grinding on the same thing over again.

This is a very interesting theory, I will test it right away but I suspect that it wont work because the game treats the quest like a fresh start over, not like "abandon colony".

Thanks! Can you point me to the threads of that?

Yeah, and I dont like how this is going. Telling great story is now becoming grinding over hours for the same stuff.
Building all over again is a big challenge itself already.

I don't know if there's any active threads at the moment. I'd keep my eye on the Rimworld reddit, though. Tynan usually pops up there to let people know what they're currently working on.

Guys, they fixed it with the lastest update. I'm so glad the dev heard us.
