Work benches? Are you using the ones in the miscellaneous section or the standard furniture ones?
edit: anything else in the room other than ceremonial stuff?
For colums, i use the ones in structure. Don't seem to have any columns in "misc." Aside from the ceremonial stuff, i have lamps in there, but i doubt they count as workstations :S
to set a room as your hall, you need the altar (or the statue, look what exactly you need), and that hall has to be impressive, needs those collums and so on to be viable.... the room is still your hall, but similar to royality titles, the throne exist if he has the requierments or not, but your pawn gets unhappy
I have the ideogram, the lectern and 3 pews, 4 collums, (tried both from structure and misc, no dice) extremely impressive, no beds, no work facilities. Unless the lectern counts as one?
