Styling Bench is utterly borked
I've tried all the troubleshooting methods other players have used. But whenever I make a styling bench, the first pawn to get to it inevitably plops themselves in front of it and goes into infinite loops of changing their hair.

At this point, I have to believe that this part of the mod is utterly and completely borked. The only possible solution I can think of is to completely remove the "look change" event. I realize that likely goes against what the programmers want for the expansion, but at this point, it is completely game-breaking.

What troubleshooting methods have you tried?

(The only one I know is using dev mode, going into your Ideology, into Beards, and making sure that No Beard is set to Normal, I think.)

That's what I've tried. But nope. The pawn just sits their endlessly cutting their hair.

the patch notes for the next patch mention this will be fixed.

atleast they say that females will no longer try to give themselves a beard when they cannot have one, but keep trying

Have you tried manually selecting them, right-clicking on the station, and then changing their style for them?
A Furry Git Jul 24, 2021 @ 5:08pm
Yup. It didn't even give any options the last time I tried it.

It might not have given you options because it was already "in use". Try Drafting all your pawns, then having the problem one use the bench?

Do you have any options allowed in your ideology? If no options are showing up it sounds like you have no options allowed for that pawn which is likely why they are in a loop. This might be because simply nothing is allowed by your ideology for some reason, or because you are using something like a race mod with race specific hair or whatever that is possibly breaking things.

Yeah, Alien Races 2.0 seems to be causing issues with quite a few things. So if you are running that, then that might be your issue.

I'm using no mods and have this issue. I had to uninstall the bench entirely to stop it.
I'm thinking of putting it in a zoned-off area next and seeing if I can command individual pawns to use it once and then leave but part of the problem seems to be that styling does not remove the "wants to change their style" mood, so they stand there and endlessly change their style until they collapse.

My females have zero problems giving themselves beards. :( It's quite horrifying, actually.

Yeah. Either leave it in a room with a locked door, or just leave it uninstalled until someone needs it.

I *think* the only pawns that feel a need to change how they look are ones that you convert, and have hair/beards/tattoos that aren't in-line with their new ideology. So once you get them squared away, they should be fine and you won't need the station again.

...I think.

There is definitely something borked...
Here's my slave Toni,

Fortunately, all of my other pawns, including my other slave, all got their favourite colours assigned.
So, yes, it's borked, but not utterly borked. I've dismantled the bench and expect a fix from Ludeon soon ;)

Nope, all pawns, whether original or converted, get a +1 mood buff if at least 4 items of their outfit match their favourite colour. It also makes it much easier for you to differentiate each pawn when each of them appear distinctly different in colour. I like it and hope to be able to continue using it.

Undyeable clothes? Hmm... my slave Pete went for all grey and managed to change his slave collar to grey. However, Toni's collar refuses to turn white o.O
